About Me

Hello! I'm Seran, aka TheStarHeron, your average late 20s artist, D&D fiend, cosplayer, and general nerd. I work a full-time job as a Web Developer, am married, have four cats and a dog, and... yeah! That's me!For fun, I like to work on my passion projects, my Vocal Synthesis studio, STUDIO OGIEN, and my stories, GodSeed & Continuity (formerly Pin Cushion). When I'm not working on those, I'm trying to 100% Nier Automata (I'm so so close! What am I going to do with myself afterward...?), write fan fiction, and play The Sims (don't look at me like that).

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you do commissions?A: Hey there, thank you for your interest! Currently, I am not in a position to take on casual commissions between working full time and focusing on my passion projects and stories. In the future, they will be on an emergency basis only and handled exclusively through VGen.For professional and commercial projects, I am available for one-off projects to build my portfolio, but they are on a case-by-case basis, depending on my personal life. This is currently limited to Vocal Synthesis design and official character artwork for studios and established business entities. My character design work is USD 200 + royalties, or USD 400 with full rights released. Full-body, fully rendered artwork is USD 150 + royalties, or USD 350 with full rights released. Even with rights released, I must be credited as TheStarHeron on official webpages and printed merchandise. When commissioning me for official artwork for business purposes, please provide a clear and concrete deadline. Rush fees of USD 100 will apply if the deadline is under 30 days. NDAs are USD 100.If you'd like to discuss commercial work further, please use the button at the bottom of this page. Thanks!Q: What supplies, equipment, and programs do you use for digital art?A: For on the go and around the house, I use my iPad Pro, Apple Pencil (Gen 2) and Procreate. I also have a Huion Kamvas Pro 16 that I've been using to texture 3D models in VRoid Studio, but have recently been using it with Clip Studio Paint at my desk when the mood strikes. As a backup, I still have my old screenless Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet from 2009(?).Q: (Is insert project or story here) dead? :(A: More than likely not, I am not one to shelf things. I did have to take a very big step back from social media for about a year and a half for my mental health, but everything I have started, I plan to finish. That includes the OGIENOIDs, GodSeed, and even (cringes) Project: Pin Cushion (now named Continuity). Just consider things as on hiatus or WIP before I feel comfortable sharing updates. Just trying to ease myself back in right now!Q: Do you have a shop or another place I can support your work? Ko-fi? Patreon?A: I currently do not, but STUDIO OGIEN does have a Ko-Fi and a Redbubble shop! :) The Ko-Fi store is for commercial use licenses right now, but there's lots of fun goodies on Redbubble! I would like to have my own store in the future, but I've just never had the time or the knowledge until recently. So, we'll see!
